FairMed AI
Bias Analysis Platform · Published February 2026
FairMed AI is an integrated platform I developed for evaluating and mitigating demographic bias in AI-powered orthopedic image segmentation models. The platform systematically analyzes AI performance across gender, age, and racial demographics — helping ensure that medical AI systems work equitably for all patients, not just those who are well-represented in training data.
Research Focus
Demographic bias in AI-powered orthopedic image segmentation (hip & knee joint analysis)
Dataset
16,200 orthopedic images across diverse gender, age, and racial groups
Key Finding
Bias mitigation strategies improved fairness scores by an average of 23.4% while maintaining accuracy
Top Method
Adversarial debiasing achieved the most equitable performance across all demographics
